Richard Reichert’s Journey from Divemaster to PADI Instructor
We are thrilled to celebrate the incredible achievement of Mr. Richard Reichert, a 60-year-old PADI Divemaster from Nebraska, who has just successfully completed his PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) at TopSub Academy Roatan and passed his PADI Instructor Examination (IE) in Utila under the evaluation of PADI Examiner Rodolfo Guillen!
Richard's diving journey began eight years ago when he first took the plunge into the underwater world. Four years later, he earned his PADI Divemaster certification and has since honed his skills in both freshwater and saltwater environments. One of Richard’s unique passions is carp shooting in Nebraska's lakes, where Asian carp are an invasive species.
A Focused and Intensive IDC Experience
Richard's IDC at TopSub Academy Roatan, under the expert guidance of PADI Course Director Vasco Ferreira dos Santos, was an intensive and rewarding experience. The two-week program challenged Richard to overcome weaknesses and sharpen his skills, particularly in teaching techniques, dive theory, and leadership.
Working in a smaller group allowed Richard to receive personalized attention and support, a key advantage over larger, more impersonal training settings at traditional Career Development Centers (CDC). This one-on-one approach allowed him to focus on areas that needed improvement, making the entire learning process more efficient and effective.

Thanks to the focused training he received at TopSub Academy, Richard was well-prepared for his PADI Instructor Examination in Utila. The relaxed atmosphere during the IE reflected his hard work and preparation during the IDC, making the final step of his journey smooth and successful.
